Sorry the blog has been so long in coming. We are still in Fairmont B.C. and the Internet is not the best but will try to do the blog again. Has been cutting out and losing my info.
As everyone might have guessed, Matt is official out of Parkridge in in the care of mom and dad at home. Matt has improved with doing self catheterizations that he can almost do it himself, just needs some help for the set up. Before he left Parkridge, they discovered he has 4 kidney stones while doing a cystoscopy. They will need to blast them, or do lithotripsy. Not sure when that will happen.
On Wednesday Matt stood with the Argyl and mom was making sure she had everything to take Matt home. Part of Matt's therapy was wheeling himself to the rehab department.
Thursday Matt really stood well for 25 min. Krista, the nurse from RUH was there and I think that is a good motivator for pushing himself to the limit. Unfortunately/fortunately that is a Gustafson trait and we love to do well in front of an audience!! He also got a massage as well from the massage therapist.
Mom was quite excited to hear that there is a Project Walk in Victoria and will definitely look into that. Barry and Gisele are living there now and would be great to go somewhere where there is family.
Can't wait until the troop makes its way to Red Deer, hopes everything works out for the best. Prayers that Matt will continue to improve and that sometime in the future he will walk on his own.
Happy Birthday Mom for August 30th. Love you lots!!
