9 hours
Matt did an incredible 9 hour trach trial today! Was very exciting and I think he was very proud of himself. And he did this with an infection still hovering, so well done Matt! Another workout day in the gym, and Matt was on the mat today. They propped him up with his arms behind him and palms on the ground, like when you sit on the floor to watch TV. They assisted him but he was able to sit that way for 3 minutes. Strengthens his stomach muscles and his arm muscles. They tried to get him to roll over, but that one still needs more practice. Ate around 3000 calories all day, which was great, but still not maintaining his weight. Matt could eat a horse and not maintain his weight! He was very excited for his friend Rocky, who was able to drive a car today with a driver trainer. I am not sure how he did, but wish him the best. Once Matt masters the wheelchair, next will be the Jeep Cherokee! Watch out Weekes! They are having trouble finding a wheelchair for Matt. They wanted to get him a second hand one, but there is none in Sk. to fit his size. Hopefully they will see the need to custom make him one, regardless of price. So big praise today for the trach trial and prayers for continued big steps forward. Phil 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

Congratulations Matt-you are taking leaps not baby steps these days...they best hurry with a wheel chair or you won't be needing it eh? Makes me realize how tall you really are! I got my garden tilled yesterday and the last of carrots dug. So good to hear of your accomplishments-keep working hard. Phil.4:4-8 yy
Way to go Matthew!!!!9 hours that is wonderful!!!!I can't wait to hear what you have done each day. You are really moving ahead these days!! Our beautiful fall weather seems to be leaving us and is it has gotten colder and very windy. You will soon need your parka to bomb around outside in that new wheelchair that we hope will soon come.We thought our house was sold but the buyers couldn't get the financing so the deal fell through. We were disappointed but oh well!Keep working hard. I hope that infection is soon finished. Hi to everyone. Love Auntie Ardis and Uncle Ken.
Boy Matt, looks like you're really aiming for that Christmas goal. Nine hours is amazing. It's obvious that prayers are being answered.
Now if the right sized wheelchair could be found.
Sounds like they're really giving you a good workout in the gym too. I bet you're blowing the socks right off of those in rehab as well with what you can all do. Keep at it. You're doing great.
Reg finally finished combining at midnight a couple of nights ago. Feels good to be done. Now I'll be heading out to the farm to cultivate today. I really don't mind - but it does get boring going around in 'circles' so to speak.
Have a super day.

Good Morning Matt,
Congratulations, Matt on your amazing trach trials 9 hours 'awesome'. Pretty soon you will be done with that step of your recovery. You are doing a great job.
Are you watching the Rider game tonight? I think they play against Edmonton. Brandon went to their game on Sunday in Regina with his class. They had a great time.
Thank you to all who are keeping the blog updated, we really do appreciate hearing how Matt is doing and all of his accomplishments.
Will go for now, keep working hard Matt and take one day at a time.
Love Trudi
Hey Matty! WAY TO GO!!!! Glad to hear that the physio is going so well and that you're making great progress!
I imagine you'll be cheering on the Riders tonight! I'm going up to Edmonton to see Darryl for the weekend, and we are going to watch the game. Although it will be with a bunch of Eskimo fans, not sure how well that will go with me cheering for the Riders all night!
Keep up the great work! I check the updates almost every day and it's awesome to see the progress you make each day! Have a super day!

Hey Matt,
Wow 9 hours that is amazing! Keep up the great work! Mid terms are finally coming to an end, only two more so I am pretty happy! Did you check out the snow just now? Crazy hey! I was kind of hoping it wouldn't snow all winter haha. Keep up the hard work! It is all starting to pay off now and I am so happy to hear that!
Love, Amanda
