One More Game To Go!

What an exciting game! Just one more win and then the Grey Cup is Saskatchewan's. It has been a long time coming. Matt had a busy day prior to game time. Dinner, then a whirlpool, then up in his chair at 2 pm. By the time the game started, he was so sleepy he slept through some of it. But he was up for the most important part. Tonight cousin Chris is his nurse, which he likes. Nothing like family looking out for you.
Matt has now been capped for 36 hours, so he isn't getting O2 or moisture anymore at night. No more trach trials! He is doing his own breathing. Rehab better find him a bed because he is ready!
Matt is a bit frustrated because his left side is so slow. Some days it moves slightly, the next day hardly at all. But it also didn't start to move until Sept. 28th, while the right side started Aug. 16th. So it has a ways to catch up. It was so good to see Matt throw the ball and bend his own arm. I even have a video of it. I tried to post it on the blog, but wouldn't upload. I sent it to Jacki and she will try again tomorrow.
Things are starting to look up for Christmas. The ball is definitely rolling and hopefully everything will be ironed out when the time arrives. Prayers that Matt's strength physically and mentally will continue to improve and that the left side will start responding better. Psalms 86 "Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my cry for mercy. In the day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me".

hi Matt, we just got home from Nipawin and they had a lot more snow than us-sounds like you had a full day, hunters are all happy for the snow. So glad you have that breathing under control! Keep up the hard work! yy

Good Morning Matthew & Joanne

Glad to hear you are breathing totally on your own. Praise God!
Just what we were all praying for. Now to get you in rehab and watch out anyone that gets in your way. Ha!

It was great to go to Weekes and see Grandma. Had a very good time with her. She talked about you a few times.

I can't wait to see you next week. Joanne, can you phone me some morning and let me know which day is good for you? I know you have to go to work for awhile so I will plan my time around you.

Take care and God bless you always.

Love Aunty Sandy

Morning Matt - things are definately moving along quickly now. Everyday is something new.. love to read of all the improvements, and how exciting it must be.. Know it is easy for me to say but be patient with your left side - just keep trying... it will come. With your determination that left side has no choice Ha. Keep it up Matt - we are all still thinking of you and praying for you. Love to all of you Aunty Brenda

WOW. They did it. Have you phoned Linz yet to rub it in,cheering against our riders. Amazing it was like watching a different team from last week.I will go out on the limb and say the grey cup is ours. Will win by 2 Touch downs. And you my boy are leading the way in termination, just need that rehab bed and you will be running in no time.It will seem like hard work at first, after a week or two you will be able to look back and say it wasnt bad.Your faith and strong will and determination will keep you going.(these big words are confusing me dont know if i got them in the right spots or spelled right)forgive me matt.So how was the party with the nurses did they slip you any pills in your drink.Praying for that bed to arive. Will say bye for now.Love Bryon,Brenda&fam.
