Hello everyone. Would love to tell you how Matt is doing but John and I are in Victoria for the weekend and Grandma is babysitting for the weekend. Jacki, Gary and the kids came up to help her out and I know Gary and Matt went into town on Saturday for shopping. I think Gary just wants to drive the new van!
On Friday Matt was official admitted to the rehab unit. However he was just there for the day and then was "discharged" for a weekend pass. They want him to come back Monday evening to be ready for "work" on Tuesday (family day in Alberta for Monday). It sounds like they will be quite strict with Matt and are really going to focus on him being more independent. So instead of us doing a lot of things for Matt, such as getting his money out of his wallet to pay for things, he will have to learn to do it himself. On Friday the physio worked with him for a bit and they are going to continue to build up his core muscles so when he stands again he will be ready. He can have visitors most times except when he has rehab. So it will be tough on him for awhile to adjust but he knows that it is for his best long term goals.
We were unable to take Matt for his weekly massage but will plan again for next week. Still going to go out for his Wednesday wings and massage.
Thanks for any comments you can add, love to hear from everybody.

Way to go Matt - sounds like you are going to have a few more people telling you what to do - ha... giving shelly a break. I am sure you will do just great as you have in the past. We continue to think of you all the time. Nice Wheels... will certainly make things easier for getting around.
Hi Joanne - give me a call when you get a minute - if you do get a free one... Love to you all Bren
Hey Matt - Great to hear things a finally going better. Love reading the blog but never did like writing in it. Person to person I’ll talk your ear off and never let you get a word in edge wise. The job is going good for now. Will be laid off this summer for 10 weeks! Oh darn!
May have to double the hours on the boat this year. All in all the family is doing well. I’m hoping to get them all out ice fishing while they are on their school break. Maybe even get out down hill skiing. Mind you that depends on how well I am at getting them motivated. We are all looking forward to spring and getting rid of this snow. I can’t handle the cold weather any more. Good to hear about the new van and the progress you are making. Love you lots. Uncle Karl & Family
Hi all. Matt sounds like you have your work cut out for you. You will do fine, you will be knocking their socks off in no time. Hi from Lloyd, we are hear with Marty for a few days. It has been good, he planned some truck repairs for this trip so he had a couple of days with us. Yesterday we went driving and saw the routes that he usually hauls on, we had a great day and now when he tells us where he is we have a clue what he is talking about. Today we took the kids to Bud Miller park, Veronica and the kids are up here to see Ella and Greg and they were kind enough to let us know they were taking the kids to skate on the outdoor pond, Josh brought his skates and stick so thew had some fun shooting the puck around, and burned off some energy, what a nice set up they have, a comfy warm building for people to watch their kids. The kids went for a long time. We are heading back on Saturday, Josh has a provincial game on Sunday, we will let you know how that went. Take are of yourself, sounds like you will be working your butt off. Say hi to your mom for me.
Candice
