Surgery a success

Matt did have his surgery for bladder stone removal yesterday at 1100. The stones were so huge that they needed to break them up before pulling them out. Thank goodness they decided to to a spinal as opposed to being put right to sleep. The anesthesiologist was concerned with Matt's previous pneumonia's and compromised breathing. I visited him yesterday and he was still groggy, couldn't move his legs but was starting to get some feeling in them. He will need a indwelling catheter and an IV for the next few days, which will put a damper on his therapy and he won't be able to come home this weekend. Which might be for the best because Mom will be in Calgary for the Brier. Jacki and Gary got her some tickets for the Sunday game and she will go up Saturday.
Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts. Will keep you posted!

Love the new pictures. Joanne, as usual, you are doing something in the kitchen. Ha!

So happy to hear that all went well with the surgery and that you will be back in rehab soon. Don't rush things, let yourself heal.

Love to you all. Auntie Sandy

Hi Matt & family:

Good to hear your surgery is over.

Also good to hear you have some future goals. If you think you're not progressing quick enough, just think of how far you HAVE come.

Take care and we continue to pray for you.

Hi Matt-well with that taken care of (or should I say got rid of!)you will have one less thing to bog you down-no doubt this has given you some setbacks and now you can push ahead again once you are rested up. Denise is coming to Nipawin youth rally with 9 so we are planning to meet her for dinner on Sat. Taya called and she has 5 puppies so is VERY excited. Praying for you. Bryce & Yvonne

Matt, so happy to hear things went well. I hope that you are feeling well soon, so you can get back to rehab. Things are busy here. Never a dull moment. Hockey is still going. Josh's team lost out of Provincials last weekend but won their playoff round last Wednesday and are starting a new round this Tuesday. The Sr, Blues won tonight and they are having a league playoff game on Wednesday and Friday I think and then Luseland comes back here on Saturday night. Hopefully they win again on Saturday as if they don't they will have to make a trip back there next Sunday. So there will not be much rest for them.
Well take good care. Say hi to your mom. Talk to you soon,
Candice

Glad things went well with the
surgery. I'm sure you'll be feeling a lot better shortly.

I haven't been here much as Riss just moved to Ottawa and Reg went back up north in Alberta. Actually have the house to myself. No more excuses to get all my projects done I guess.

Well, speaking of projects, my big one for this week is to completely clean out my office. That entails putting everything into the livingroom and sorting it all out before one thing goes back in there and then in order. Don't you just envy me!! Have a great week.

Everyone here is fine. The girls are busy with dance, and Brett is choosing his courses for next year, as he will be heading to high school in the fall! Crazy!

You sure have come a long way, Matt! You continue to inspire us with your amazing spirit and determination. Keep working hard in rehab!

Love to all!
Shannon
