Thurs am update
Day 4 - Matt has taken a small step backward in that he has developed pneumonia. Thus, we have been instructed to limit his visitors for awhile - basically until he gets out of the ICU. Therefore, we encourage friends and family to send their thoughts via this blog as only immediate family will be allowed to see him. Please keep Matt in your prayers. God Bless.

Hi Matt, George and Joanne,
Just to let you know that we're all praying for you and for a speedy recovery for Matt. We're also praying as a church family at the Weekes Chapel as well. Plus I've let friends know far and wide through the internet to pray for Matt.
So hang in there Matt, you're a fighter and with all these prayers going up on your behalf, you'll be up and around before you know it.
With our love and prayers,
Reg & Bev Hertz & family

Hey Matt - (Joanne and George) If anyone knows what you are going through I think I have a good idea. I remember Jackie and Shelley but do not believe I had the pleasure of knowing you. Things are going to get a lot harder before they get better, but as long as you believe in yourself and have the loving support of others - milestones are on the horizon. I broke my back in an accident in 1988 but today I am fine. Keep your head up and your smile on and just believe. Thinkiong of you all, Lisa Erickson
Hey Matty,
really glad to hear things are starting to look up a bit. you'll be better before ya know it, just like always. Miss you lots, luv ya. your friend, Chelsey
P.S. my mom says to tell you she loves ya too, She'll see ya when you get back to work.
Hi Matt and Family,
While on my early morning walk this morning, I was doing a lot of praying and thinking back. How the night you came into the world your family was visiting us in Red Deer. Jo and I had gone to the theater, a christian movie was playing that we both were interested in seeing. Joanne could not seem to settle down and watch the movie. I believe she was only seven months or so, and she said she wasn't having contractions, just felt uneasy. Even then I was praying for both you, as I was remembering our Tracey coming into the world two months premature. We left the theater, picked up your dad and headed up to the hospital, not knowing that they would do a c-section almost immediately. I have always felt, God has a special call on your life Matt.
While walking & praying this morning and babbling to the Lord the way I do, I finally just said "What is your plan for Matt"s life Lord? As quick as that, this verse was in my mind "For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, they are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray , I will listen. You will find me when you seek me, if you look for me in earnest."
Matt you are so loved, as are each of your family, we wish we could be there, may each one of you feel His strength and peace, Trust Him, He will see you through. Much love, Aunty Carol & Uncle Winston
