Looking Great
The girls and I travelled from Red Deer today to see Matt's progress. I spent the latter part of the evening with him and didn't get back to Auntie Karen's until 1 am. Excuse for the late blog entry. Matt's day didn't start so well and hoping to pinpoint the nausea. But he was up in his chair and able to enjoy the beautiful fall weather. By the time I arrived, he was bright, cheerful, and really awake, the night hawk. To be able to talk, the respiratory therapist deflated the cuff of his trach so air could pass through his voice box. So great to hear that raspy voice. He stayed that way for 3 hours, with no assistance from the machine except oxygen. He didn't even break a sweat! So great to see those finger movements and was even able to give Matt a little Swedish massage! Neck muscles are really tight. Also a scalp massage, so he owes me big time! Looks so strong and hoping to be off the respirator soon. Then big plans to be home for Christmas holidays! Ephesians 1:6 "So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear son."

Hey Matt!
Glad to see the progress you've been making. Keep it up! Tell Shelly she'll be glad she's there visiting, as they are telling us we're going to have snow tonight! Anyways, I better get back to work. We're praying for you guys! Have a good day!

Praise God indeed!!! I do get a little nervous when the blog doesn't come Shelley but glad to hear you are moving right along Matthew. It sure has been beautiful fall weather. Nothing on our house yet. Everyone is getting back into their usual activities. Shannon's kids are off today.Looking forward to seeing Brenda and Bob on Sunday.Love you all Auntie Ardis and Uncle Ken.
Hey Matt,
It was so nice to hear your voice again! You were looking so much better lastnight. Randi and I could not quit talking about how good you looked! And how much you can move your fingers was amazing! Your breathing was also very impressive! It was nice to hear some stories from when you were young, sounds like you kept your mom, dad and siblings on their toes! Anyways, we just wanted to let you know that you are such an inspiration and are so happy that you are making all these accomplishments!
Love,
Amanda and Randi
Way to go matt, great work on your breathing.Hope they can figure out that infection quickly.Must ask if a sweedish massage is better than a canadian.Braden has a football game here at 4 so i am off to watch him,he has one in humbolt next friday so will be up to see u on sat.if plans go as planned. So will say bye for now. Knock there socks off matt know u can do it.Love bryon brenda & brood
Got that voice back - bet that feels good. Look forward to hearing you on the 17th of October or so.
It's extremely windy and warm here today. Plus 20 or something. Nice change from what we've had. Weather forecast is for another nice day tomorrow here on the east side of the province. Let's hope that holds true.
Never mind the Swedish massage or the Canadian massage - how about a good old fashioned Mennonite massage. Others have told me I'm pretty good at them. Lets see how many other massages we can all come up with.
Have a super weekend!

Sorry I haven't been on here much lately, but school work has gotten in the way the last bit and renavating a house doesn't help either. I hope City is as good a place as they say and that they figure out what is giving you the trouble. Miss ya lots buddy.
