A New Development
I realize Jacki had already written the blog tonight however I received a bit of news that she didn't know about. After dad had spoken to Jacki on the phone, I phoned because...well... I am nosy and like to have first hand knowledge of every day's happenings. Matt was so excited. He had just received a Grey Cup Jersey signed by all the team members of the Saskatchewan Roughriders!! Also a signed bandanna! He couldn't believe it. Apparently, one of the nurses from ICU wrote a letter to the Riders explaining Matt's situation and asking what they could do. Their initial plan was to come and see Matt, however that didn't turn out but what they did was great! So a big thanks to all involved, and if any of the team members are in Saskatoon, swing by the City hospital for a visit. Will take pictures over the holidays to put on the blog.

Hi Matt! Wow, you must have been sooo excited to get that signed jersey! What a nice thing for them to do for you! We just love to hear about all of your new accomplishments- you are doing so great! We know it has been long, hard road for you so far, and we know you have lots of work ahead of you, but you can do it! Keep working hard! You are making such wonderful progress! Auntie Ardis is bugging Uncle Ken to buy a computer to have in Phoenix, because she can't keep tabs on you anymore, so she phones regularly for updates. Aunt Evelyn Shaw also waits for regular updates on you! So many cheerleaders behind you- I hope you know that! Any news on the van? We hope everything works out for Xmas for you, but whether you're in Saskatoon or in Weekes, know that we continue to hold you in our prayers and to cheer you on!

Hi Matt & family;
Just visualize the miles and miles of smiles that are triggered when some new blessing is sent your way. We daily read the blog and again are so thankful to be able to be connected to your needs and joys. Waiting, prayerfully for news on the van. As Yvonne said, if that doesn't happen, family and friends will make it special, where ever you are. I know when we pray...the answers sometimes seem like a 'no' later we realize He's always on time with the answers. Having said that, always remember your cheering squad(from all over the globe) prays on, that the van,and every detail necessary for you to spend Christmas at home will be supplied.
