Lunar Eclipse

Just wanted to drop a quick note. I am in the hospital with Matt watching the lunar eclipse. The colors were quite amazing and we watched it for over an hour. Today the trach site is healing nicely, they put only a tiny dry dressing on and the site is as big as a pencil. The trachea already has a thin membrane covering it so no more air leaking out. Matt states he can cough better, talk better, breath better. No more leaky tire sound from the trach. Yahoo!!
Exercises are still going well. The left was a little sluggish but still improving. Stood up four times, however he stood with the stand/walker. Tried to take a step again without the slidder, still toe dragging, so can't finish the step. Spasms still give him grief. Whenever he tries to do something, he spasms and then has to wait for his body to relax.
Just going to feed him some homemade perogies and chicken. Matt is looking over my shoulder telling me to hurry up and feed him! No chance yet of him being overweight, however he is now 180 lbs. Still getting tube feeds at night.
Praise for the trach being out and prayers for rehab to continue going strong. On Monday they may even try him in the pool. I think he is a bit nervous about drowning however has to learn to trust the rehab staff. Please add a verse to the comments, as I do not have a bible in the room with the computer.

Good Morning,

It's 5:33 a.m. and I just finished making Reg's lunch for his truck haul.

I'm reading a book and this verse was at the beginning of the chapter and I thought - how fitting.

Deut 10:21 - He is your God, the one who is worthy of your praise, the one who has done mighty miracles that you yourself have seen.

The pool - I think you'll love it. I can hardly wait for the snow to go and the pool to open up here in Hudson Bay. I then get up at 6 a.m. and go for aquasize every morning and love it. Don't worry Matt, they'll take good care of you in there and maybe it will help with the spasms.

Have a super day.

And yes, thankyou to your family for keeping all of us up to date on your progress.

Depend on the Lord in whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3
it was really nice here today but the roads are really slippy. we have had 3 accidents in as many days because of black ice. i made real sure that geoff new to be careful going to work.wish i was going into that pool with you. lay back and relax and let the staff help you. they now what they are doing.

Hey Matt! Thought I'd drop you a note. We're here at dad and mom's for the week. Decided we'd give Kelvin & Jess a hand with some of their wedding stuff. Dad's trucking nights right now, so he got a nice look at the eclipse last night from the truck :) Anyways, keep up the good work.
