In Weekes

Matt and Dad travelled to Weekes on Saturday to be with the family. Jacki, Gary and kids are there and we will be travelling tomorrow, as will Nolan and Lindsay. Thanks to much for everyone's kind words on the blog. Even through our sorrow, meeting with the family to talk to each other and lean on their shoulders always helps the grieving process. Lamentations 3 "Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love."
The move to ward C4 is complete with Matt saying everything went smoothly. There are no younger people on this floor so that may be a challenge. However all of the patients are just respite for either a fractured hip, recovering from a stroke, and most will be going home after their stay. I couldn't even tell Matt had moved because the background on skype looked the same.
Matt did some therapy at Parkridge on Thursday. Did some mat exercises. He was surprised that he can get his knee to his face if the therapist helps him start the bend in his knee. Of course with those long legs he could touch the ceiling! Matt also noted his back is getting stronger. He was very encouraged when they sat him up on the mat, if they situated his hands beside him just right, he could sit up by himself for quite awhile. They even tried to overbalance him a little, and he could straighten himself out. But Matt finds his lower back is stiff and numb, a very strange feeling he couldn't quite explain. Matt was also able to do the arm bike for 10 mins.
Not sure when I will be able to do the blog again. Mom and dad don't have a computer. But will try to find the way to keep everyone updated.
