Just wanted to give a quick update. the girls and I just returned to Red Deer and are glad to be home. It is quite a drive but the DVD player makes the trip shorter (for the girls!).
Matt has decided to stay in Weekes until Sunday. He has been off his sleeping pill since returning home and is sleeping well. It took him a couple of days but has adapted to being without a "bedtime" helper to sleep.
Tuesday was a sad day with Grandma's funeral but was nice to see so many of the family. Loved to reminisce about all the times spent together and how much Grandma meant to all of us, young and more mature (I didn't want to say older because I would be getting some phone calls!). Matt didn't have a great day physically. His neck was bothering him alot and his limbs felt like they were in glue. He could hardly move at all. Usually he says they feel like they are in jello, so was more unusual. We put him down for a nap in the afternoon and woke up feeling somewhat better.
Wednesday Matt was feeling much better and said he had such a good sleep. Dad and I took him uptown for coffee and he played 6 games of crib with the guys. Then Nolan, Lindsay, and I took Matt to Weekes Hotel for wings. As anyone from Weekes knows, that is the only place to go for some food so off we went. Matt sure enjoyed the food and was able to visit with some of his friends that came to visit. I chaperoned to make sure he didn't bug the waitresses too much. I also helped him out with certain aspects of care that needed attention. So all in all was a good night.
Thanks for everyone who gave food, cards, gifts, their time and prayers for Grandma's funeral. It will always be remembered.

Hi Matthew & Family
Glad to hear you get to spend a few extra days at home. It was great to see you this week.
It was sad to say goodbye to grandma but we all know that she is in a better place. She was one terrific lady and we are all going to miss her so much.
You take care and don't let your mom boss you around (or maybe it is the other way around.) Ha!!
Love you guys.
