One year Anniversary
Usually when you think of an anniversary it is in correlation with a happy event. Matt has enjoyed being home but difficult to think about all the things he was doing last year prior to his accident. But lets recap on what Matt was like right after his injury. He was on a ventilator, had surgery on his neck, was unable to drink water, eat or communicate verbally. The only way he could talk to us was by blinking his eyes using an alphabet board. The future was very bleak and the chances of Matt ever moving or breathing on his own were less than 1%. So Matt, let's celebrate your accomplishments since that day and only look forward and up. You have come such a long way and we love you for all you have done. Thanks for continue to persevere and retain hope for the future. We all know with the power of the Lord you can do anything Matt!

How true Shelley, with everything that you wrote. You have come a huge distance Matthew and you have never stopped pushing yourself to the limit. We are all so very proud of you and love you dearly. Sometimes it is hard to put into words how we all feel but we have all been with you 100% of the way and will continue to be with you for as long as it takes.
See you on Friday in Weekes. Can't wait to see Michelle walk down the aisle.
Love Aunty Sandy & Uncle Orest
Yes Matt, you've come a lonnnnnnnng way. God does really answer prayer for which we are all so thankful for. And He'll continue to do it as we continue to pray for your complete recovery.
Hi Matt,
It has been a long time since I sent you a message, but I read your blog consistently and I want you to know you never cease to amaze and inspire me and my kids. I'm sure this day has sadness and regret attached to it, but as Shelley said, look back to what the immediate days following June 30, 07 looked like. Look at yourself now....nothing less than amazing. I hope you have a great weekend!

Matt..
Its been forever since I have seen you, or talked to you but please know that I have not stopped praying for you. You have no idea what an impact you have had on my life.. I have not only did I meet a very special person but a wonderful family too!
Your personality has kept me on my toes, your wit has made me smile, and your "big winks" allow me to realize you are full of heart! And just think that today isn't just an anniversary but it is about how strong and brave you are..
God bless you Matt, and please know you are always thought of..
Love always,
Krista
