God's Grace

Matt had another very tough day, this morning his blood pressure dropped to 50/10, oxygen level to below 80 and his pulse was 28. They called a code blue, but thanks to very good nurses who knew just what to do, they were able to revive Matt. It was discovered that the tube on the outside of his lung had quite working and his lung partially collapsed. After a long day it was decided to put another tube up higher and get rid of all the air. The procedure seems to have worked as the last x-ray was much better. Matt was resting comfortable at 2300 hours. He wants to thanks everyone for all their prayers and to let you all know he will get through this. He believes God does not make mistakes. Phil:4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

I can hardly imagine going through what you and your entire family is facing, Matt. Continue to trust in God's purpose. Keep strong and keeping fighting Matt.
Shelley, please let me know if you have any needs here in Red Deer. We would love to help out.

Dearest Matt & Family,
So sorry for yet another really tough day,my mind cannot fathom all you endure, but I do know the One that is holding you all as you go through this. So we pray on, for with God ALL things are possible.
We leave Naniamo on the 5:15 am boat tomorrow. Pick Judi up at Abbotsford. We will stay over one night at Sicomous, then on to Red Deer, so we won't be able to read the blog for a day or so. Plow on, dear ones, something good is just around the corner. Much love Aunty Carol, Uncle Winston & Family

Hi Matt & family,
We just got home and I read your blog. I am so sorry to hear of your tough day yesterday. Please be assured that we continue to pray for you and your family (I almost feel I am part of this family by now). I'm so glad to hear that you realize that God makes no mistakes, even though sometimes it makes no sense. Keep plugging along, we're with you.

This past weekend was intense. It makes me realize the importance of family and the strength we have inside. I came home realizing just how beautiful each and everyone of you are. The reunion wasn't the same; as Matthew was on each and everyone's mind...will continue to keep him in our thoughts and prayers...what a remarkable young man; and what a remarkably beautiful family he has. Love to you all... Gisele and Barry

hey matt,
sounds like thigns are going pretty crappy man. acutally crappy doesn't even do it justice, but i heard something through the wire that made me sad, but also was a bit intresting too and definetly you should hear about. an bit of an old hero from my days of bmx'ing and biking and stuff.. check out what happened with stephen murray..a pro bmx rider. bout the same time as you he had an accident in competition and broke his neck and has a pretty similar injury to what you are dealing with right now. it goes to show that this stuff happens to anyone (barring the fact that stephen murray was in a high risk occupation), and i dunno ..i just was hoping maybe it went to show that there are other people going through what your goign through and your not that alone...

Hi Matthew! We were soooo happy that we got the chance to see you today! We are all so proud of you and how strong and confident you are. At the reunion this weekend, we prayed for many things for you, but also for God's peace. And you know, that's what I felt when I saw you. You are such an awesome young man, and we love you very much. Sorry I didn't get the chance to say good-bye. We'll come again for another visit when you're stronger.

Love, Shannon, Ray, Brett, Kiera, and Kaylie XOXOXO

Hi Matt;
We know you felt God's presents with you on Sunday as His Spirit moved with all of us as we gathered to pray for you, Matt we serve an awesome God. He is there to give you strength and courage hold tight to His hand as He leads you through this. Good things are going to happen. There is so much power in prayer, as He answered us on Sunday. Keep fighting, He is strong when we are weak.

hi Matt-hope you are having a better day-we are trying to get organized(if that is possible!) for the Shand fair-I gave Kelvin a long list he could look after at the fair and then he said he was pouring cement and had to work so guess I go to plan "B". Hi to the rest of your family too. Love & prayers-The Youngs
