Trach is in

Matt finally had has surgery for the trach insertion. Things went alright, however they had attempted to put his feeding tube in through his nose instead of his mouth. He had difficulty with this and they had to take it out. Hopefully they will reinsert it later when he calms down a bit. The trach is bothering him because it isn't what he is used to and feels like he isn't getting enough air. Pray that he will get used to it soon. Psalms 34:4 I sought the Lord and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Another plus is there is a wheelchair on order from Ontario and hopefully will get it within the week.

Hi Matt! Sorry it has taken so long to write, but just got the blog address yesterday from Mom. I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers constantly, and that I know you will make it through this. You are strong, and a fighter, and you can do whatever you put your mind to.

I hope to see you this summer, and make sure you say hi to everyone. Miss you all lots!! Love you Matt!!

Take Care
Heather

Hi Matt and Family! Glad to hear the surgery went well. I know it will take some getting used to, but give it time. Glad to hear that the pneumonia seems to be clearing up as well. I have been reading the updates and comments on this blog daily and am so thankful for it! It helps us to keep informed of your progress and how the family is doing too. Please try to keep your spirits up Matt. I'm sure things are discouraging at times, but as I read these comments over and over, I quite honestly have never seen so much love and so many prayers directed at one person before. You are on the prayer chain at Mom and my church, as well as my friend's church, too. So, you've got more people praying for you than you realize! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers everyday. Take care!

Hi Matthew

Just read your latest blog. So glad the surgery is over and that it went well. Now you just have to be patient and get used to something new. Shauna and I are coming to visit you one day next week...maybe on Monday or Tuesday. Love to your mom and dad. I am sure they will be happy to hear your sweet voice again - even if it is just a whisper for now. That may be a good thing, right Joanne? HA

Talk to you soon.
Love Auntie Sandy and Uncle Orest

Hi Matt,

Just catching up on your progress. So happy for you that the trach is in. Although it is difficult to get used to, don't forget....this is progress!! Keep it going!! We think of you each and everyday and have recruited many friends of ours to help in keeping you in their prayers also. Its a wonder anything else gets done in heaven with God listening to your name all day and night....and we will continue to be persistent!! Thinking of you and your family.
Thanks for these updates...
